ASA/CSBR Summer Internship Program

The Aerospace States Association and Colorado Space Business Roundtable Aerospace Summer Internship Program is designed primarily to give rural and under-served students in Alabama and Colorado a pathway into the aerospace industry. The program is open to high school and college students.  Students from other states and students not in rural or underserved areas will be accommodated if space is available.

This is an unpaid internship program for anyone interested in aerospace.  Though aerospace is STEM oriented, there are opportunities in many career fields including business, program management, procurement, human resources, communications, legal, and others.  The workforce consists of people with GEDs to PhDs and everywhere in between.

The Internship Program runs for two weeks total. There is a virtual week with students from multiple states participating, followed by an in-person week in either Alabama or Colorado depending on where a student lives and which in-person program they would like to attend. During their time in the program, students will have the opportunity to engage with aerospace industry businesses, university programs, and nonprofits, learning about the opportunities and challenges facing the industry and gaining valuable hands-on experience.

It is called an internship as students may have the option to continue to work with their ASA Chapter following the program. There is no cost to participate, but students must generally pay any expenses associated with attending the in-person program.  Scholarships may be available for those not able to afford to participate in the in-person programs.

It’s Not Rocket Science! – But Wait… It is!
